Eye surgery

Eric,

You got laser eye surgery this past Tuesday. The recovery has been a little rough on you, but I really hope you will start to get better soon (or now actually, you are currently at the doctor getting your protective contacts out). I hope so badly this is the end of all your normal frustrations with your eye site. A few more days and we should be through the "recovery period" of the surgery, and you should have about 95% of your eye site, and then 3 more months you should be up to 100%.

I did get to watch the surgery, which I was a little surprised at myself for being able to stomach it, but it was very cool! I think it helped me that there was a nurse watching with me and explaining everything they were doing. And I was able to ask her "will he feel that?" and "how much does that hurt him?". Your pretty blue eyes were up on a flat screen monitor for me to see up close and personal, really up close. Imagine your entire eye taking up an entire computer monitor and that's what I saw. I think having watched the surgery from the perspective I did and getting info from the nurse, I actually got a better understanding of exactly what they did (you had one eye closed and one eye being operated on, so you couldn't figure out everything that was going on), and now everyone at work is asking me about it because evidently alot of people consider this procedure.

I will be glad when you
1. feel better
2. can see better
3. can sit in the house with some blinds open (it's been like the bat cave this week)
4. don't have to use eye drops every 20 minutes
5. can go for a walk at night (we're talking dark out people) without your super duper sunglasses on
6. are my husband (thought I'd throw that in there)

All my love,
Sarah
