Babies and Holidays

Eric,

This weekend was definitely full of babies, which is very unusual for us! We babysat for Paul and Jess while they went out to celebrate their 5 year anniversary. And we visited with Lee, Jessica, and Linda Saturday night for dinner and a crochet tutorial. As much as you always say you don't want to be around babies right now, you sure did warm up to them!! You were wanting to see Jack before Jess put him to bed for the night, and when Linda was fussy, you happily took her from me so Jess could show me the crochet steps. You had the magic touch (or the magic walk) because you managed to make Linda happy, which we were all happy about!

I know people have told me that we will be asked when we're having kids WAY before we'll be ready for that question (your family has already started, we'll see how long my family holds out), and I know that neither of us are ready right now, and we both want time to be married before we go down that road. It does confirm to me that I am marrying the man for me when I see you and how you interact with kids. Even though you gave Jack his first taste of beer, and you'll probably teach Linda things like how to throw snowballs at Santa, you understand the joy that kids can bring and the joy you can bring to kids. You are going to be a great uncle to Linda, and one day a great father to our children should we be blessed to have any.

It's almost Thanksgiving and feels like almost Christmas since we used some free time this weekend to get some of the Christmas decorations out so we don't have to rush to pull them out after we get back from Thanksgiving just so we have some time to enjoy them before we start the Christmas travels. I love visiting with both our families, but don't love the hours in the car. Although it's much better when we travel together because it's time I get to spend with you, and I do love that.

You started to come down with a cold this weekend, and I hate seeing you sick and not feeling well. So I am pumping you with orange juice and hoping you feel better soon!!

All my love,
Sarah
