Bad Blogger

Eric,

I know, I know. What happened to the "one blog a week" goal? Well, it's busy times in the future Brolley family. I have so many thoughts that race through my head in a given day/hour/minute, I really do only get to about 1% of them. One of them being "is Eric really going to give 2 cents about reading this blog one day?" And I've accepted that the answer is going to be "maybe not", but maybe 50 years down the road we'll be sitting on the porch in our rockers and laptops (or our embedded computer monitor in our eyeball, you never know...) and we'll come back and have a good laugh at something that I wrote on here.

So the biggest news, Nelley (previously known as Strawberry) is officially ours now! Lots of people have asked me where the name came from. The best was my manager Tom wanting to know if we called her that so we could now say "Whoah Nelley" and really mean it. I had to inform him that we had not actually thought of that, but it was a great coincidence. In fact, Nelley comes from "Nelson" and "Brolley" smashed together, kinda like TomKat (Tom and Katie) or Brangelina (Brad and Angelina), just minus the celebrity part, at least for now. When we got her set up at the vet, she was originally Nelley Nelson, but we have since switched her to Nelley Brolley so she doesn't get made fun of.

Our days now are consumed with Nelley training. This involves us going to the dog park (we arn't exactly dog park people either) or Lake Lynn to practice her socialization skills. She is a GREAT dog, except for one thing, she doesn't know how to meet other dogs yet. Given time, she gets used to them, but a short quick meeting never goes over well, and in our neighborhood a single walk can mean 5-10 short quick meetings. And she's a lab mix, so walking/running is not optional. She does GREAT running with me, so I have enjoyed that alot, although if she gets bored, she chews on shoes, which I don't enjoy alot (she says sorry to granddad about his sandals :( ).

So we are now in the world of Facebook. I always resisted because let's face it, do I really have time to keep up with one more thing? No, but when you go to a work conference (granted at an IT company) and the entire agenda is around creating your "online brand" and you don't have a Facebook account, I thought they were going to make me leave. So I signed up, and then the next day you signed up. I feel like it's aplusk vs. cnn to see which of us can get more friends faster. Anyways, we made the plunge, and it seems like it's a great way to keep up with people, so we'll see how that goes.

Other feedback from the conference is that wordpress is the ultimate blogging tool. So I may investigate switching over... hopefully if I switch everything posted here can go over too!

I feel like this post didn't include any of the stuff you have been doing lately, which I am so proud of you for, but this time thing gets in the way again. I'll be back to spread more love your way :)

All my love,
Sarah
